This 8km journey between the village of Vallon Pont d’Arc, the Pont d’Arc beach, and the hamlet of Châmes is limited to groups of up to 16 people and offers an unforgettable experience. Participants will discover the natural beauty of canoeing in the Ardèche while enjoying a fun and safe outing.

Unlike self-guided trips, which require a minimum age of 7 for regulatory reasons, this guided mini-descent allows families to share an unforgettable experience together, starting from age 5.

The Mini guided descent of the Ardèche is the emblematic 8km route, which starts from our landing stage in Vallon Pont d’Arc and will take you to Châmes, passing of course under the magnificent Pont d’Arc.
YES, BUT HOW DOES IT WORK?
BOOKING AND MEETING POINT:
• After choosing a time slot and booking your guided mini-descent of the Ardèche River, you will meet directly at our landing stage located on the banks of the Ardèche in Vallon-Pont-d’Arc. Once there, you can park in our private parking lot, which is available to you free of charge. Then it’s time to meet your instructor!
PREPARATION AND EQUIPMENT:
• Loulou Bateaux works exclusively with professional instructors holding a state-recognized diploma (BE or BPJEPS) to ensure you have the best possible experience. In addition to their expertise and know-how, your instructor will be eager to share their passion for the exceptional natural environment you are about to (re)discover.
Once introductions are made, you will be equipped (life jackets are mandatory for everyone, and waterproof containers will be provided to keep your belongings dry during the activity).
Next, the instructor will give a short briefing to discuss the itinerary, specific points along the route, and answer any questions you may have.
BOARDING
• No need to arrange transportation to get to the canoes! We are located on the banks of the Ardèche River; simply walk 50 meters to the beach to board the canoes waiting for you.
As explained above, children under 7 years old comfortably ride in the instructor’s canoe, while adults and children over 7 years old can choose between 1-person, 2-person, or 3-person canoes (the third seat on a canoe is a passive seat, without a paddle, located between the two paddlers).
YOUR ARDÈCHE RIVER TRIP ITINERARY
• And so begins your 3-hour river trip, punctuated by calm stretches where you can admire the beauty of the river, a few small rapids where you can put your instructor’s advice into practice, and of course, several breaks for swimming, photos, and relaxation 🙂
And of course, the impressive passage under the famous Pont d’Arc!
ARRIVAL AND RETURN
• Once you reach the arrival point, a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to our departure dock where you can change and have a drink before saying goodbye until next time 🙂
